High-Frame-Rate Optical Capture

OMMotus™ Optical Motion Capture System

An optical motion-capture system for comprehensive movement biomechanics analysis. Its high-resolution optical capture combines long range, high accuracy and low latency to track multiple subjects in complex scenes. Streamlined operation and analysis software processes data through FPGA edge computing to output high-precision six-degrees-of-freedom data. The system synchronizes with force plates, pressure walkways, wireless surface EMG and Visual3D biomechanics software, with synchronization latency under 50µs for accurate, reliable data.

Core Capabilities

The capability points below are taken from the official product material for this product.

  • Ultra-low latency, ultra-high frame rate

up to 380 fps at full resolution with latency as low as 2.63 ms to capture fine movement detail

  • High accuracy

a calibration algorithm requiring minimal prior information reaches sub-20µm precision under optimal conditions

  • Wide field of view

a proprietary lens-distortion-correction algorithm delivers an 89°×49° FOV at high frame rate and low latency without sacrificing accuracy

  • Stable and interference-resistant

invisible 850nm infrared illumination with drift-free tracking, robust against light, vibration, noise and electromagnetic interference

Typical Workflow

A generic research-lab sequence; mounting, synchronization and export details follow the official technical file.

  1. Set up and calibrate

Position the equipment for the protocol and complete zeroing or calibration before the first trial.

  2. Acquire in sync

Record with third-party kinematic, kinetic or physiological systems on one time base where the protocol requires it.

  3. Process and analyze

Review trials in the analysis software and derive the metrics your study defines.

  4. Export and publish

Export raw or processed data for statistics, modelling and publication.
